Hand Carved Log Lintels

Hand carved Log Lintels can dress up the entrance to your log home's front porch as in this handrail post; or interior carved lintels can enhance a balcony railing or staircase handrail system. However, carvings exposed to the elements out of doors, should be less detailed than something that is protected inside your log home.

The barn owl at left is carved to full life size, and has minor detailing, as it will be constantly exposed to the elements. As shown it has been outdoors for about one year since being carved from red pine, and has the protection of only an oil based stain.
